Super Turbo And Hyper Turbo Sit N Goes Compared At The Leading Poker Sites
Faster poker variations are hugely popular, and most major sites now offer short-stacked, super-fast versions of 1-table tournaments. This article shows you what is on offer, how the fees and buy-ins compare and (most important of all) which site’s tables are filled with ‘grinders’ and which have the potential for big profits.
A few things to notes before I go into the comparisons. First that there are some big strategy changes required to beat these super-fast SNG games. I created a huge article outlining these stage-by-stage, you can find it here. Second, there is another fast SNG type - confusingly also called Super-Turbo - which has 1500 starting chips. These can be found over at Titan Poker, see my detailed SNG review here. Finally, US players have a limited choice of these games with Americas Cardroom as a clear leading contender. US readers should scroll down the page for information on this cool site.
Super Turbo / Hyper Turbo SNGs are great for grinding out a high volume of games – and herein is a problem. Since they attract the ‘grinders’, you will find them full of tight players who know the math of the end-game well… decreasing their profitability for casual players. On the other hand, sites which do not suffer from hordes of grinders tend to have fewer games running. I’ll recommend some ‘sweet spots’ where the balance is just right!
Super Turbo SNGs – My Clear Top Choice – 888 Poker
888 have awesome new software, and have been building their player base steadily over the last year since dropping the ‘Pacific’ brand in favor of 888. They offer Super Turbo SNGs with 500 starting chips and 2 minute blinds. These are popular with both poker players and those ‘gamblers’ crossing over from the huge 888 casino – making them the softest I have played at any site. The lower buy-ins is where the action is, if you want $20+ games then you will need to head to one of the bigger sites instead… For those players looking for profitable smaller stakes action, 888 are a clear top choice.
With promotions and marketing aimed at attracting new and recreational players, this site will be a big success story running into 2018 – check out their profitable Super-Turbo games for yourself now via this link.
Hyper Turbo SNGs – Prefect For Higher Volume Of Games – PokerStars.com
PokerStars is the perfect site for players looking to get a high volume of games, if you specialize in their Hyper-Turbo format (with 500 chip starting stacks and 2 minute blinds) then it is easy to get 12+ tables going at the lower to middle buy-in levels. I love the smooth software and generous player loyalty scheme at PokerStars, however you will need to make a bigger effort to identify the regular players and avoid the winners where possible – they do take money from the tables over time.
This site are biggest for good reasons, and for Hyper-Turbo fans looking for volume they are a must-see. Use Marketing Code PSP3108 when you register (from the drop-down menu) and Bonus Code STARS600 when you deposit to claim up to 3 separate 100% welcome bonuses totaling $600 max. Check out PokerStars for yourself here.
Hyper / Super SNGs For US Players – Top Pick – Americas Cardroom
Americas Cardroom are a solid US poker site who head up the Winning Network. They are building a great repuatiion for easy deposits and fast cash-outs, and offer a great range of Sit N Goes and tournaments. For fans of the fast-format games, you will find Hyper-Turbo games with 2 minute levels and 500 starting chips, the standard in these games is very much 'recreational' in nature, so you have real possibilities to make a profit once the variance evens out!
You'll find cool software and some big promotions at BetOnline, including a great welcome offer including a 200% matched bonus + cool promotions! Check out the games at www.betonlinepoker.ag for yourself now!
Hyper / Super Turbo SNGs – What Is On Offer At The Rest Of The Big Sites?
Titan Poker have some fishy games thanks to the big sports-betting traffic on the iPoker Network. Their Super Turbo games actually have 1500 chip starting stacks – the twist is that there are 1 minute blind levels (not fun if you get a slow mover on your table!!). You can read my Titan Poker Review here.
Red Kings on the OnGame Network make an interesting choice, they have Ultra Turbo SNGs which use the 500 chip / 2 minute levels system and also have a lot of recreational / sports betting traffic thanks to the big brands on their network. The extra bonus the first time you get dealt the 2 red kings in a cash game is also worth checking out. Read my review here.
Party Poker do have higher fees in their micro buy-in SNG games, though they do make up for this with having famously soft tables! Buy-ins for their 500 chip 2 minute level games stop at the $22 level. One for the watch list.
Another for the watch list to finish off with, as Full Tilt Poker are now back and have their 300 chip Super Turbo games. Plenty of traffic and a big list of improvements in place since PokerStars took over. This site should be on your shortlist for their cool software, their tournament events and their unique promos - as well as for the super-turbo SNGs! Check out the Full Tilt Poker Website for more.
Super-Turbo SNGs – Summary And Planet Mark’s Pick
For me the softest opponents are the key consideration. Grinders are beatable, but they suck up a small amount of profit (on average) from each game, decreasing the overall profitability.
888 have the recreational players, are increasing the number of games and having bigger and better promotions – for me a great choice for the super-fast SNG games as we go into 2018.
