Here at Planet HQ we have been discussing the new games available so far in 2013. Looking at the list, it seems the PokerStars / FullTilt teams are the ones who have been driving the innovations. If you know of any more then let me know!
In case you missed the intro post – this update is part of Greg and Mark’s World Series Satellites Challenge. We are taking $500 each, and using it to play a variety of satellites to this year’s events. Of course the ultimate goal is for one or both of us to win a trip to Vegas, though if we end up without a win then the winner will be decided based on who got furthest at the most different sites.
Last time I wrote a Planet Corp update everyone was bitterly complaining about the length of the winter… there was snow on the ground here in Budapest… and Party poker served a lot more countries than they do now!
Now summer is here in a big way, with 28c and my lunches are now being taken outside. The mood has lightened, the heavy clothing shed… and progress continues on far too many fronts here at Planet HQ.
Full Tilt have relaunched their affiliate program, and to *cough* encourage webmasters like me to write blog posts they have made a special offer, where new players using the '$10 FREE' link get a bundle of SNG, tournament and cash game tokens without needing to deposit.
Anonymous poker games are expanding through the sites at the moment. They started with Bovada (the US brand formerly called Bodog), then Party introduced them for their heads-up games and now Titan / iPoker have them for lower limit cash games. I tried these games out last night, curious as to how if felt / how being anonymous affected my play… unfortunately the first thing I encountered was a glitch!
Well, the first quarter of the year has flown by. It was pretty intense here at Planet Corp HQ, with the main theme being the new back end and design for this site.
This post takes a forward look at our plans for the next quarter of 2013, covering SNG Planet, the Bonus Club network and a couple of new up and coming projects. First up though, some highlights of the first quarter:
- New version of the site is the big one of course, a huge team effort
- Strategy / Article focus this last month (making up for lost time, this will continue)
I’m back in the office after a fantastic trip to Madrid, Spain – where I caught up with an old university buddy after far too many years. Turns out he is living in Alcorcon, a medium sized town (175k people) just outside Madrid itself where the new ‘Euro Vegas’ is going to be built.
It was pouring with rain on Sunday, but being intrepid Brits we were not put off by a bit of damp weather and made our way to a small hill, 20 minutes from his apartment where I took a quick snap of the future site…the left hand side into the distance will be the main building site.
