Tournament events used to be one every quarter, then monthly… these days you can see one ‘festival’ or another several times each month. We are still waiting for the schedule for the big Spring event – PokerStars SCOOP. In the meantime we have iPOPS IV, Micro Millions, FTOPs and another Tournament super-sale to look forward to.
My main Online Poker Events page goes through all the details (including why these events are both fun and profitable with the right approach). This post will sum up what is happening this March!
#1 – iPOPs IV. This is the iPoker Online Poker Series, a short event by some standards (with just 5 big prize pool tournaments last time around) though still managing a cool $500,000 in guarantees at the last running. Nothing on the Titan website at this moment, though my affiliate manager tells me the next iPOPs will start on the 15th of March.
What I like about this one is that iPoker have a huge proportion of 1st time and recreational players, mainly due to their big sports-betting focus. This keeps the games soft (including the satellites), so you have a better chance of hitting a big money prize compared to some of the more ‘grinder-heavy’ sites out there.

#2 – PokerStars MicroMillions – Starts 14th March. This is a huge event for smaller stakes players, especially those with the time and inclination to fight their way through fields measured in the 1000’s and sometimes 10,000’s! What sticks out with this event is that Zoom tournaments, which have been in Beta for what feels like ages, will make a debut… should be good.
#3 – FTOPS at Full Tilt Poker – Starts March 17th. The Full Tilt Online Poker Series used to be the main rival to the PokerStars event calendar… now they are owned by the same people it is no surprise to see them coordinated. This event is for the big spenders, with the smaller events at the $215 entry. There are plenty of satellites and a nice selection of variations to choose from – and of course, those coveted FTOPS avatars for the winners.
#4 Tournament SuperSale is back March 25th. Again a pre-warning. The Titan SuperSale is an opportunity to play some of the bigger buy-in tournaments at up to 70% off of the advertised buy-in price… with the prize pools staying the same. This is a popular promotion, and gives a real opportunity to play in games which might normally be over your bankroll limit. Hopefully the ‘BOGOF’ will be back (buy one, get one free!). #5 America’s Card Room $200k guaranteed 7th April. Just so that US players do not feel left out… ACR Poker are having a $215 buy-in big one on April 7th, and are running satellite qualifiers to make sure it fills! This is bigger than the guarantees at either Lock or Carbon Poker, I’ll let you know of any new from those sites when it comes to tournament events as soon as it comes in.
