IGT’s Classic Pinball Slot is Still Popular Today
Pinball is a rare classic 3-reel slot which has remained popular for decades.
Once you take it for a spin, the appeal is instantly clear. Classic symbols, a single win-line and the potential for a huge line hit is just the starting point. It is the bonus feature that has kept live casino slot fans coming back to Pinball for years.
This gives you up to five shots at a pinball board above the reels. Each shot will win a prize. Those prizes range from 5x your bet to 1000x.
You’ll find details of how Pinball slots work, and how to get the best value from them, below.
You can’t yet play Pinball slots online – though there are recreations of classic slots with wheel spin and picks bonuses (as well as giant jackpots). For me, Slots.lv have the best selection and some epic bonuses – an unmissable combination – see www.slots.lv for the latest promos now!
How Do Pinball Slots Work?
The symbols in this game all shout ‘traditional’.
There are red sevens on the reels, as well as cherries. Single, double, and triple bars make up most of the reels, with the Double Diamond symbol completing the game’s standard symbols.
To win you simply need to line up three matching symbols on the single win-line. This is one of those live casino slots where blanks come into play. During each spin, some of the reels might not feature a symbol on the win-line, instead the win-line being in the middle of two symbols.
While this makes wins harder to come by, it also allows the machine to pay higher amounts when you do line up those 3 symbols.
Line Hits Up to 2400x
If you play for the maximum 3 credits (you should always play 3 credits, read on to find out why), the top prize in the base game is 2,400 credits for lining up three double diamond symbols.
This is more than 10 times the size of any other pay out. As well as lining up matching symbols, you also receive a pay out when three mixed bar symbols appear on the win-line. You also get paid if just one or two cherries appear on the win-line.
The Pinball Slot Bonus Game
On the right-hand reel there is an added pinball symbol. If this hits the win-line at any time, you enter the pinball game on the upper screen of the slot.
You are now awarded a number of balls based on how many credits you are playing. If you are playing for 1 credit, you are awarded 1 ball. This rises to 2 balls if playing for 2 credits. Play the maximum 3 credits and you get to enjoy the action with 5 balls. This is why playing the maximum 3 credits is the cost-effective way of playing the game, giving you the most opportunity to land those wins.
Hit the ‘Launch Ball’ button that now appears below the reels and the pinball action starts. This electronic game features a series of lights representing the position of the ball. It starts off spinning around the outside before falling into action area featuring eight different pots. Each pot has a different pay out amount. These range from just 5 credits up to 100 credits. Whichever pot the ball lands in, that’s your prize.
Bottom Section with Bigger Pinball Wins
Occasionally, the ball can fall through the pots into the well at the bottom. The first well position pays 25 credits and these rise to 50, 100, 500 and then 1,000 credits. The only way you can get your hands on the top prize of 1,000 credits is to see all 5 balls land in the well at the bottom. Once again, this is only achievable if you play for the maximum 3 credits, therefore receiving the maximum 5 balls.
After all your balls have been fired and prizes won, the total prize pool is then awarded. At this point the overall prizes could be significant and with any luck you might have to call the attendant to check out that mega win.
Retro Fun - Design of Pinball Slots
This game will certainly appeal to the kind of players who like to enjoy throwback games. The three reels have a plain backing, although the white has been replaced by a blue tinged background. The symbols look exactly the same as they would at any time in the last 50 years, which is great for the traditionalists. What brings this game into the now is the pinball game above, although even that has a slightly retro feel, with a funfair feel to the visuals. The soundtrack to the game features the usual beeps and buzzes but play the pinball feature and you hear the real sound of a ball careering around.
Is Pinball a Bumper Casino Game?
The Pinball slot is a fun and fast-paced slot that has a wide-ranging appeal. The game has been around for a while already, but its testament to its popularity that you can still find it prevalent on the floors of many casinos. It shows that there is still room for those three-reel games featuring sevens, bars and cherries.
