A Massive Progressive Jackpot Plus Entertaining Simple Game-Play
Jackpot Giant has two key reasons to play. First, the huge progressive – regularly more than a million dollars – makes this slot stand out in the PlayTech range. Second, it is an entertaining and light-hearted game.
The setting is a volcanic island, and your host is a friendly giant. When you hit the only bonus feature, you’ll see how big this giant is. He stands behind volcanoes, throwing in gold coins and reacting to your wins. The intro video for this slot is also worth watching at least once!
Here are the big reasons to enjoy the Jackpot Giant slots:
- Multi-million progressive jackpots
- Big scatter prizes, up to 500x your total bet
- Plenty of wild symbols to connect your regular wins, plus oversized symbols
- Pick volcanoes in the bonus game for cash prizes with entertaining animations

Jackpot Giant: How to Win the Progressive
This slot is not for the low-rollers. To win the progressive jackpot prize you need to bet max. This is $4 a spin.
You will win the jackpot simply by lining up 5 of the wild symbols on line 1 – right across the middle of the reels. If you are not betting the max, you’ll still win an impressive 50,000 coins. This does pale into insignificance compared to the millions you could win if you land the progressive.
If you can’t stretch to the max bet, you’ll find plenty of jackpots which don’t need big spins on my Biggest Slot Jackpots guide.
Volcano Picks Game
There is only one feature (other than the jackpot) on Jackpot Giant. This is triggered by hitting just 2 bonus symbols – one on the first reel and one of the fifth.
When you trigger this the reels will disappear. You see a scene with 6 impressive looking volcanoes, and your host the giant behind them.
The game is simple, you get to pick 3 of the 6 volcanoes. Each time you pick one, the giant will look at it, then toss a gold coin, which lands in the crater. The volcano then erupts, counting up a cash prize as it goes. The bigger your stake, the bigger the prize.
Sometimes you will get a second message after the eruption finishes. This says, ‘extra pick’, giving you an additional prize. If you get lucky, you might also find a message awarding you the prizes from all the volcanoes.
Jackpot Giant Slot Setup
This slot has a simple and fast base game. There are 5 reels, each with 3 rows of symbols. 50 win-lines cross over, giving you plenty of opportunities for multiple line hits. You can bet for 1c per line (though keep in mind that 10c is needed to access the progressive).
There are the usual PlayTech options of Auto-Play (up to 99 spins) and turbo mode, which speeds up the spin of the reels and any wins.
Winning Combinations on the Jackpot Giant Slot
Wild symbols have the biggest prizes. If you are playing max bet, you’ll want to line these up on line 1 for the progressive prize. If not, then you get 50,000 coins for 5 (on any line). These pay from 2 of a kind from the left and up. 2 will get you 10 coins.
Scatter prizes are also worth hitting. These show a giant’s hand, holding gold coins. You do not need to get these on the win-lines. They pay based on the total number anywhere on the reels. 5 of them will get you a generous 500x your total bet, 4 are worth 50x and 3 gets you 5x.
Regular winning symbols are headed by the coloured crystals. There are three types, red, blue and yellow. The red ones are worth 500 coins for the max 5,
Stacked giant symbols can pay over multiple lines at the same time. There are two of these, one with a volcano and the other with a forest. They pay 100 and 80 coins for 5 respectively. Smaller wins come from playing card symbols which are carved from stone.
Entertaining Design with an Animated Giant
You’ll meet the giant, who seems friendly, via the intro video. This is worth seeing at least once. That same giant will sometimes appear over the reels – for example blowing clouds away if you don’t spin for a while.
The setting reminds me of Easter Island. The reels are transparent, and you’ll see sky, volcanoes and greenery in behind them. Birds will sometimes fly past behind the reels.
Graphics on the reels are cartoon-like – these are not animated. I like the scatter, which is drawn to look like the giant’s hand is sticking out of the reels, offering you the gold coins.
When you hit the bonus game, the giant really does come to life. He will toss his gold coins into each volcano, and react to your wins – even looking up as the total is counted above. You’ll hear drumming sounds when the reels spin.
Should You Go for the Big Prize with the Jackpot Giant Slots?
If you are happy to play for max bet, then this slot is strongly recommended. If not, then you’ll miss out on the chance to win that progressive jackpot prize. While there are many entertaining reasons you might still want to spin, the ‘what if’ would be heart-breaking should you line up those wilds on reel 1!
The highlight is the volcano bonus game. This is a simple bonus, though the mix of entertaining animations and win potential makes it worth a look.
