Sunday Million Event - A Great Opportunity To Stock Up On PokerStars Tournament Dollars

The $8 million guaranteed Sunday Million this coming Sunday (March 2^nd) is 2 opportunities in one. First, there is the obvious opportunity – to win the thing and take down the $1,000,000 guaranteed for first place. Second (and the subject of today’s post) is to pack your account full of ‘Tournament Dollars’ which can be used to enter any tournament or sit and go you choose.

Here is how it works:

These big headline events always attract masses of recreational type players. Some have experience though many do not have specific poker strategy knowledge at all.

What they’ll do is play the satellite qualifiers, there are some special ones which I will detail below –as well as many regular ones. These satellites will be super-soft, since strategy for them is very specific – especially at the bubble.

So, what I recommend to you is two things:

• First brush up your satellite bubble strategy with my dedicated section on that topic.
• Second, qualify for the Sunday Million, unregister, and take as many chunks of $215 as you can in the form of T$, or Tournament Dollars.

You can split these up into any amounts you wish to play tournaments and Sit N Goes with.  This is a win-win-win for me… soft fields + exchange for T$ + make a profit from the regular games later (assuming you know how to do this!).

Satellites For The $8 Million Sunday Million

There are too many satellites to list here, so this is just a summary. I’ll cover the specials for this event which will be well publicized and so attract a lot of the fish – and then say a couple of words about the regular satellite games.

Special Cash Satellites:

There are hourly $1 feeder satellites to the $11 Deadline Sat below, these are hourly (going up to twice per hour after the 28^th Feb). If you are a smaller bankroll player you can unregister from the deadline satellite and build up your T$ that way.

The $11 deadline satellite is awesome, with a massive 1000 seats guaranteed, as with all deadline satellites – you’ll have to play if the target tournament has already started. This one kicks off at 13:30ET on Sunday March 2^nd.

$33 Deadline satellite, this one starts just 15 minutes later at 13:45 and offers 333 seats guaranteed.

VIP Satellites

Plenty of opportunities to get into the big event using your player points. These qualifiers are divided into rounds, with the first one starting at just 50 VPPs. Round 2 costs 500 points, starts at 14:30ET on Sunday and guarantees yet another 200 seats in the big event.

Regular Satellites

Too many to list in one blog post… I’ll give you a flavor here and point you in the direction of my Sunday Million Satellites article which covers the pros and cons of these games.

You’ll have Hyper Turbos (great fun, but swingy), Turbo Rebuy’s (my favorite!) and regular rebuys, fixed buy-in qualifiers and qualifiers to those qualifiers – if you like Sit N Goes you can try the Steps, you need to win or come second up to level 3… then you can use your Step 4 ticket to join the big game.
