Detailed Review of BetSafe Poker – the Online Poker Site Covering 2 Networks!
There are a number of popular standalone poker sites, but nothing beats playing at a table where you’ll find recreational players joining after a win at the sportsbook or the casino. This is what you’ll find at BetSafe Poker, where you’ve got a choice of two poker sites – Poker Black and Poker Red (covering the MicroGaming and OnGame Poker Networks). With double the choice range of cash games, sit and goes, tournaments and even the fast paced Blaze and Strobe poker there is something for everyone. You also get a choice of bonus amounts; from €25 to €1000 (the small ones clear very quickly).
BetSafe is a poker site where it’s clear that even having a small idea when it comes to poker strategy will give you that all-important edge… check them out at www.betsafe.com!
Detailed Betsafe Poker Review
Below is my full and detailed review of BetSafe poker. The company have been in the industry since 2006 and is part of the Betsson group, making it part of one of the most trusted and well-known brands in gambling, making their name in Scandinavia before becoming the worldwide company they are today.
At BetSafe you’ll actually find two poker sites – BetSafe Poker Black which is part of the MicroGaming network and BetSafe Poker Red, part of the smaller OnGame network. The two poker sites run independently, with their own tables and options and below I’ll pinpoint exactly what you’ll find on each.

BetSafe Poker Review – Spotlight on Cash Games
Poker Black – The vast majority of the action is at the no limit Hold’em tables where you’ll find the most players heading to the micro stakes tables. Full ring, 6 max and heads up tables are available at a wide range of stakes, starting at just €0.01/€0.02 all the way through to €50/ €100. If playing at any stakes from €2/€4 or below you’ll have no trouble finding a table at any time of day, while higher stakes might see you facing a wait for the tables to fill. Most of the tables are regular ones, although options available include turbo and anonymous tables, while Blaze poker is the high speed game. You’ll also find fixed limit hold’em, Omaha, Razz, 5 Card Stud and 5 Card Draw tables.
Poker Red – The OnGame network site offers a similar range of games to the MicroGaming site, although the stakes offered only go up to €5/€10. This site is the less busy of the two and you may find a small wait for a table if playing at any stake from €1/€2 or above. You’ll find Telesina as an additional game here, while the speed poker offering is Strobe.
BetSafe Poker Review 2019 – Spotlight on Poker Tournaments
There is something to suit a wide range of tournament players at BetSafe. The big event of the week at the Poker Black site is the Sunday Showdown with a €25,000 guarantee, while the nightly Big Night In offers a €5k guarantee. There are tournaments for all levels of players, which include freezeouts, rebuys, turbo and super turbo events, as well as freerolls, special events and satellites to large land based tournaments. You’ll find a similar mix of tournaments at the Poker Red site although there isn’t quite so much choice. The big event being the €20,000 High Roller, while you’ll find a particular focus on super- fast tournaments, with a number of satellites taking the ‘all-in every hand’ approach and the ‘Mad Tilt All-in Rebuy’ tournaments.
BetSafe Poker Review 2019 – Spotlight on Sit N Goes
I have created a separate review which focuses on SNGs as part of my series looking at all the major poker sites. You’ll find a wide range of games across the two sites, with a mix of formats catering to full ring, heads-up and both 5 and 6max games. You can read my BetSafe Poker SNGs review here.
BetSafe Poker Review 2019 – Software and Playability
When it comes to playability, you’ll find a much enhanced user experience at the Poker Black site. You’ll find a number of table options, including classic, mini, arcade and fun settings, fun being recommended for the recreational player, while classic is a good fit for the more serious poker fan. The gameplay is smooth and fast, making for an ideal game. The poker red site offers a more basic user experience, with just the classic style offered, although you can opt to have a fun avatar. The gameplay isn’t quite as smooth as at the other site, although the no-frills approach will appeal to many players.
BetSafe Poker Review 2019 – Bonuses, Incentives and Promotions
At BetSafe poker you get to choose your welcome bonus when first signing up – €25, €75, €250, €500 or €1,000. You’ll have 30 days to activate the bonus and you’ll start clearing it the moment you enter any real money cash games or tournaments. The bonus is released in percentages as opposed to all at once, which is always a good thing, especially if you are struggling to complete it within the time frame (you’ll have 60 days to clear whichever bonus amount you choose).
You’ll also earn loyalty points as you play as part of the BlackGold VIP program. You’ll earn points every time you play and the more points you earn, the higher the VIP level you’ll reach, this program earning you between 10% and 30% cashback on your poker r ake. Other incentives at the site include freeroll tickets for new users, a bad beat Jackpot and a mobile giveaway for those who enjoy poker on the go.
BetSafe Poker Review 2019 – Summary and my Verdict
BetSafe Poker is on the rise that will surely make waves as we move through 2016. With two sites for the price of one, you’ll find a great deal of variety but it is clear that the majority of players will migrate to the Poker Black site, this MicroGaming skin offering a wider range of games and more traffic than the OnGame offering. Being linked to a sportsbook, you’ll find plenty of sportsbook players trying their hand at the poker site, offering some particularly soft games, while the bonuses are rich and varied. All in all, this makes BetSafe poker a site that I’d recommend.
