The venue for this tournament is the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The dates are 12th to 18th of October 2012, and the prize pool has a guarantee of $500,000!

Punta Cana Poker Classic – How To Qualify Online
Steps SNGs are the name of the game for these qualifiers. This is a popular system where you win your way up the buy-in levels of 1-table tournaments by hitting the top spots at the lower buy-ins.
For example, the Step 1 Sit N Goes are $1.10c to enter, and pay out a Step 2 ticket to the winner, the next 3 places get a ‘try again’ at Step 1 and the 5th place gets 20c returned. As you move up there are more try again spots, with some moving down 2 levels. This makes the games great value for money, and also protects you from having one ugly bad beat ruining your chances of the package.
Step 5 awards the $5k prize to the winner.
If you have the bankroll, you can buy-in at any step along the way, the prices including fees are $1.10c, $5.50c, $22, $109, and $650 – the blinds for the first 2 levels are 5 minutes, the $22 game has 10 minute levels and the higher steps have 15 minute blinds – meaning skill will play a progressively bigger part as you move up.
