Pokerstars 2011 World Series Qualifiers – Satellite Options Available
You can find a list of the tournament qualifiers via the ‘Events’ tab (top row) and then “Passport” (which will appear on the 2nd row). What I will do here is work backwards from the bigger buy-in games which actually award the seats – through the sub-qualifiers which get you into those games. Steps SNGs are covered separately below.
Direct Main Event Qualifiers:
The ‘Standard’ qualifiers which guarantee a number of seats are priced at $700, $320 (turbo), $215 (1 rebuy / 1 add-on) and $109 + rebuys. These are running daily, with at least 1 seat guaranteed for each and up to 5 seats gtd for the weekend events.
In addition there are $33 + rebuy deep-stacked 3x Turbo events which guarantee seats running each day. These are very fast and give you the opportunity to rebuy 5,000 chips for $30 during the first 90 minutes then add on 50,000 chips after the rebuy period ends. With a good early run it is possible to get through these with one buy-in and the add-on, though realistically you will need to budget for a few buy-ins at least!
Winning A Seat In The Direct Qualifiers
Here is where Pokerstars are very strong, with a wide choice of sub-qualifiers which start cheaply enough that almost every player can get involved.
The cheapest are actually only 3 frequent player points (with rebuys) which feed into the 5,000 FPP qualifiers giving you a seat in the $700 event of your choice. There are also 2,200 FPP qualifiers to the $320 (turbo) direct qualifiers and 65- FPP qualifiers to the $33+R 3x turbos.
Cash qualifiers start at $1.10c, with $4.40+ rebuy, $5-50 and $11 next – these feed into sine of the bigger buy-in sub-qualifiers (or some the $33 / $109 direct qualifiers). For those with deeper pockets for their Main Event qualification run, there are $16.50c+R, $27.50+R and $80 freezeout satellites to the various direct qualifiers too.

Winning A Main Event Seat Via Steps SNGs
You can make your way up the Steps SNGs to Step 6, an 8-handed $2100 buy-in SNG which awards a Main Event Passport to the winner and $3000 to the runner up. Steps start at $7.50c (with some cheaper sub-qualifiers) and you come in the first 2 to move up (with ‘try again’) spots.
In addition you can use a Step 4 ticket for any $215 buy-in tournament – which ties in with some of the direct qualification MTTs.

It seems somehow more subdued than last year, yet if I were a betting man (!) I’d still think that Stars will send more players to the main event than any other poker site.
