Luvin Poker Review 2011

Everleaf Welcome US Players – My Detailed Review Of The Pros And Cons Of Playing On The Everleaf Poker Network’s Luvin Poker

by Planet Mark

Everleaf is a huge network, literally 100’s of poker rooms pool together their players to create a bigger choice of games for players using this back-end. I’m going to start off this review by suggesting caution. With so many skins there are bound be a few bad-eggs. The Everleaf network is a solid choice for US as well as Worldwide players, however you need to stick to the biggest and best known brands – Luvin Poker is one of the bigger players, with very responsive staff and made it onto this site with their solid reputation.

What is different about Luvin Poker (other than accepting American players!) is that they are based around a vibrant community. With a forum, leagues and lots of banter you can choose to interact as well as enjoy the poker – or just play if that suits you better.

There are several incentives available to new players at this site. Starting these off is a 200% matched bonus on your first deposit up to $1000 max, no special code required – every new player can enjoy this! After this there are cash prizes for rake-races and a leader board contest called the super-league. You collect ‘Pokerpoints’ for real money play and can use these to enter tournaments with nice cash prizes or spend them in the webshop. Finally there are regular one-off promotions, these change around each week and it is definitely worth keeping an eye on their website to ensure that you do not miss out.

Luvin' Poker Cash Games

Cash games are really where it is at on Everleaf – you’ll immediately notice a good choice of tables at the lower buy-in ranges. These range from 1c / 2c blinds through to €1 / €2 (though there are a few higher levels). Most of the tables are played in Euros – though you can deposit in Dollars and hold your bankroll as $ too.

Tables are ub 2, 4, 6 and 10 player sizes – the 4-max are popular choices. You’ll find No-Limit, Pot-Limit and Fixed-Limit games and some capped games too which specific a maximum which can be bet on each hand (this is 100 times the big blind as standard).

Pot-Limit Omaha has a choice of games running, though the Omaha Hi-Lo and 7-Card Stud seem very quiet!

Luvin Poker Review - Tournaments And Sit N Goes

If you enjoy smaller stakes tournaments, then Luvin Poker would make a great choice – there are a huge amount of games with buy-ins starting at < $1 up to the $5+50c level, $11 games are the exception here. Rebuys, deepstack, and turbo variations run and many have guaranteed prize pools up to $500. There are a couple of bigger guarantees – the largest being the weekly $3500 guaranteed a $22 entry game at 15:00  ET on Sundays. Satellite qualifiers run to get players with smaller bankrolls a seat in the $3.5k Gtd.

Sit N Goes really follow the same theme – great if you are a smaller stakes player looking for some soft (and US-friendly!) action… not so good for those looking to play games above $11. Variations include double-ups, turbo and PLO games – lucky dip and timewarp SNGs should be on your ‘check it out’ lists too!

Just like Doyle’s Room the SNGs alone are not enough to justify a full review – super soft and lower buy-ins are the key pieces of information you need to know.

Luvin Poker 2011 Review – Software, Service And Deposits

I’d describe the software as ‘Effective’, now this sounds a little insulting… however it is not meant to be! The interface is simple and colorful, the game play smooth and easy to operate and navigation around the site is fine too. At the same time there is no single thing to say ‘yeah, I like that’ about this software – its perfectly good, nothing more and nothing less… that’s what I mean by ‘Effective’! There is an instant play (non-download) version of the software too.

Service is via 24 hour live chat or e-mail, I have not had any reason to chat with them myself – however there is nothing in the poker industry or players forums which suggest there is anything to worry about. If I have a problem I’ll report how fast and effectively it gets dealt with here!

There is a huge list of deposit options on their website, including many I have never heard of myself. Clicking on each method brings up an explanation of how it works and who can use it. US players should usually try their bank cards / credit cards first, wire-transfer and money transfer services are your next best bets. For non-US players there are a lot of Electronic wallets available, including the major names like Neteller and Moneybookers.

Luvin Poker / Everleaf Network Review – Summing Up, My Rating + Next Steps

On the positives side we have a generous 200% welcome bonus for Luvin Poker, a community feel to the site and some generous promos including races and leader-boards. On the ‘room for improvements’ side I’d say this was more of a cash game player’s site than a tournament or SNG fans – unless you prefer the < $5 games, in which case there are plenty to choose from. The software is plain and effective and there are plenty of deposit options available. 7.4/10 seems fair for this US friendly site, and who knows – with a few more players they could start running more tournaments and I’d give a better score!

This is a nice US-friendly site with some very soft games – Click now to check out Luvin Poker for yourself and claim your 200% initial bonus!
