Carbon Sit N Go Tournaments

Carbon Poker are the biggest site on the Merge Network - the biggest and best for US-friendly online poker available post black-Friday. As you will see in my review, I do not see this as a 'best of what is left' at all, Carbon are an excellent site in their own right and offer a great range of SNG tournaments. At the lower to mid-levels you can enjoy the games, awesome software and bonuses more generous than the 'old sites' ever were!

Carbon Poker SNG Tournaments Review - 1-Table Sit N Goes

Standard 1-table games come in 10 handed and 6-handed formats, with buy-ins starting at $1.10c. Payouts are in the standard 50% / 30% / 20% format for full-ring and 70% / 30% for 6-max games. Starting stacks are 1500, with blind speeds available as standard (10 minute levels), turbo (5 minutes) and hyper-turbo (3 minutes, starting at 50 / 100 chips).

Smaller stakes players have an advantage at Carbon, in that these games do not charge proportionally higher fees like you will find at many other sites. There are a range of buy-ins available and the tables can get surprisingly busy up to the $22 level, with higher games kicking off during the evening and weekend peaks. Grinders will find it hard to have too many of the same games (which actually keeps the games softer for regular players!) though it is possible to get some decent volume by mixing and matching the structures and buy-in levels.

In addition to the NL Holdem games you can play Fixed Limit and Pot-Limit Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha and Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, Fixed Limit Omaha Hi-Lo and No Limit Omaha Hi + Limit Stud and Stud Hi-Lo... The main action is with NL Holdem and PLO High.

Variations On The Standard 1-Table Games At Carbon Poker

Just the two variations to note - the double-up (double-or-nothing) SNGs and the Bounty games.

Double-ups come in a range of buy-ins and formats, and are very popular. While you will find some 'regulars' in these games, this is a low number compared to those at Pokerstars or Party (for example) - making these games profitable. The bounty games are half / half on the buy-ins, so a $11 game would be $5 for the prize pool and $5 for each player you knock out + the $1 fee. With bounties bigger than most other sites, there is more incentive to knock people out - making these games fast and loose!

A fair amount of lower limit action for the Multi-table Sit n Goes at Carbon, which come in several sizes and speeds. All of these games are in No Limit Holdem format only for now. Table sizes are 12 (2*6-max), 18, 27, 45 and 180 players.
