Regular Spin or Lock N Spin
There is nothing to stop you playing the Wild Gambler slots like any other game. On the original, you’ll find a green spin button one in from the right. Your line stake is simply multiplied by 20 lines to give you a total bet.
Lock N Spin works differently. Here the cost per spin is based on your line stake, and then takes the number of locked wilds you have on the reels into account. There are two versions, one for each of the slots. In the African game, the lion is wild, when these wilds are locked, you will see him in a bamboo cage. For the Arctic game, the wild is the polar bear. This works a little differently, as the wild freezes over when locked, and the bear is replaced by whatever symbol lands naturally.
As the number of wilds increases, the cost per spin can shoot up. If you started betting $1 a time, you will find that amount hitting $30, $100 and even more as the number of wilds increase. What you can do if you prefer to play with multiple wilds is to reduce your spin bet. You can take this down very low, making it possible to spin with more than half of the symbols wild for a ‘reasonable’ amount.
Some players prefer to let the wilds fall naturally and keep them in place as they fall. If you prefer, you can click them on and off. This way it is possible to configure your own wilds setup. Configuring wilds gives you a lot of options, though Ash Gaming added another one for the Arctic Adventure slot. Here you can add multipliers to the wilds. These can be anywhere between 1x and 5x (the next click switches off the wild). You will pay more per spin for the bigger multipliers. This gives you a ton of flexibility in how you spin.
If you play the ‘natural’ version of this game, wilds can land on top of ones already on the reels. This is how the multipliers increase.

Wild Gambler Slots: Free Spins with Locked Locking Wilds!
Both games have bonus features with big win potential. These are triggered in different ways. On the original game, a line of 5 meerkats need to pop up from the bottom of the screen, holding banners which spell out the word ‘bonus’. That will get you 8 free spins. In the Arctic Adventure, there are bonus symbols. You need a minimum of 3 in view to get 7 spins. 4 will get you 12 spins, and 5 gets you 20.
Free spins always start with the same number of locked wilds and same line bet as on the triggering spin. The big extra is that any more wilds that fall during your spins also stick to the reels. In the case of the Arctic slot, this includes multipliers for wilds which fall on top of existing ones.

Both slots share a light and cartoon type design. They are not massively detailed, though more than make up for this with the small animations. My favourite is the meerkats – which pop up as if from nowhere and frantically look around. The roaring lion breaking its bamboo cage is another one to look out for.
On the Arctic side, the animation where the wilds freeze comes with an excellent crunchy sound effect.
