Some Poker Dates For Your Diary

Seems that there are a lot of poker events being announced at the moment, both big and small. While I do have a (more static) Online Poker Events page – this is more of an overview / reference style piece. So, today a list of some dates for your poker diaries… mostly tournament events, with the notable exception of the return of Full Tilt.

Update: After some readers feedback, I have added some more to this list! List subject update at any minute as some sites who do not have events start to feel left out....

4th November: Party Poker Autumn Million: The quarterly $1 Million Gtd $640 event at Party Poker takes place on Nov 4th. Party are making a serious effort to focus their room on recreational / amateur poker players at the moment, so this big event is ideal for players wanting to take a shot at the big time. Satellites are underway, starting with the $2 and $8 daily qualifiers. Party have a great looking promo for November too, called the 'accelerator', I will do a separate post on this one early next week either here or at my Networks blog. 6th November: This is when Full Tilt are returning at least in the unsegregated EU and 'free' countries around the world, haha… As a player I’m looking forward to this very much, once I have a chance to play some games I will brush up my strategy e-book on the 9o player knockout SNGs and send it out to everyone who is already on my newsletter list. If you have not yet received my $16 / Hour SNG Blueprint course then the preview info page is right here.

15th November: Czech Poker Festival: Something different from Pokerstars should also be in your diaries. This is a live event which is held in Prague from the 15th to the 24th November and features 13 different events with smaller buy-ins than many of the tours (the Main Event is just EUR600) making it accessible to more players. There are special satellites which are available to players from Czech, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary (that’s where I am based!), Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

25th November: iPOPs returns at Titan Poker. This is the ‘iPoker Online Poker Series’ and is now in it’s 3rd running. This one is entirely online and drops the live final 3 tables for the main event. I am not sure if this is just for the winter, or whether the idea turned out to be difficult to organize and has been dropped. Anyway, there are 5 events, all NL Holdem and $1 Million in guaranteed prizes. For non-US players looking for super-soft tournaments, this is a very strong rec! You can find out more (including my ongoing $20 extra cash free deal) on my dedicated iPOPs page.

29th November: Poker Maximus is back! This event is on the US friendly Carbon Poker, who are part of the established Merge Network. This event is getting bigger and better each time – and has combined guarantees of $1,400,000 this time – including 3 different ‘Main Events’ with $470k between them. In total there are 35 tournaments scheduled, a leaderboard contest and plenty of satellites. Carbon have really thrown down the gauntlet to their US poker site rivals with this one, and I look forward to seeing how the other sites respond. SNG Planet readers get a free $11 SNG entry + improved 150% matched bonus (usually just 100%) at Carbon Poker - your coupon code = SNGPLANET - check out Carbon Poker's cool software now!

2nd December: FTOPS is back… Readers who started with online poker over the last year and a half  might not remember the ‘Full Tilt Online Poker Series’, this was a regular online event, with big prizes and pro-hosted tournaments… It seems like a lifetime ago, but this one really got the poker world buzzing! I am waiting with everyone else for the details, and expect that the 10% buy-in equivalent ‘Mini-FTOPS’ will be back too. Watch this blog for more news.

3rd December: The WPT Hits Prague. The Czech capital is on this post twice, with the World Poker Tour arriving in December. This is a $4250 event, and you can win a seat (+ travel / accomodation package) over at Party Poker... Next year Party will see a huge influx of fish from their Zynga tie-up in the UK, I know where I will be playing... how about you!?!

16th December: EPT Snowfest:Held in the Austrian Alps, this event is gaining popularity each year - a combination of Ski holiday and poker tournament event... with some big parties thrown in. Qualifiers are running over at Pokerstars, who own the EPT Brand. I have a decidated guide to EPT qualifiers over in my satellites section here. 5th Jan 2013: Just in case the thought of the winter is too much for you to bear... The Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure is back for its 2013 incarnation starting on the 5th Jan. Satellites for the main event (which give you accommodation  and travel expenses as well as your entry) are a big focus at Pokerstars at the moment… Bahamas in Jan, I’ll take it!

GL at the tables, Mark
