Potential Value Alert – The Paid Lamborghini Freeroll Satellites At Stars!

Just writing an article for one of my more promo-focused sites and had an idea that there might be some good value for experienced players in the paid qualifiers for the Pokerstars Lamborghini freerolls….

Now, these only started yesterday and I’m unlikely to have any time to play until the middle of next week (family visiting from Wednesday this week which has squashed a weeks work into 2 days!), so I’ll need to put a small disclaimer in place…. ‘Not Yet Tested’

Anyway, here goes:

In addition to the freerolls to qualify for the Lamborghini freeroll weekly final there are paid tournaments with normal prize pool distributions which also pay the top 27 spots with a ticket to the ‘weekly finals’. These are running every 2 hours and are priced at $1 and $10 + usual fees.

My idea is that there are 2 opportunities for value with these paid games… not actually counting the weekly final freeroll entry ticket:

1 – A lot of people who do not normally play tournaments / or the $11 level will be tempted to give these games a shot… making them soft, even compared to a normal $11 tournament!

2 – The seats in the weekly final will change some people’s play… not wanting to bust in 28th place will create significant equity approaching the bubble if you can spot those players… they’ll blind themselves rather than go for the real equity which is in the ‘normal’ prize pool.

Anyway,  just my theory – be good to hear some feedback from any readers (either in comments here or via our Facebook group) who give these a go, if not then I will make sure I try a few in around a week and a half and report back my findings!

I tried one of the 11$ tourneys with 200 players registrered, and i got the ticket in first try with just a relatively tight but aggressive approach. Since theres only one weekly final left i dont really see the point in playing another one, but you are right, it does seem like a pretty soft field of players.
