Planet Corp Update And Misc Festival Ramblings!

Every week is a busy week for me, it is not that I have a problem with liesure time as such – just have always had a high motivation level to get on with whatever needs getting on with in this life! This week will get more entertaining from Thursday onwards when a big music festival comes to town…

Until then it is onwards and upwards with the Planet Corp! Here is the latest news:

 - New look expanding today, we are about to have the Russian version move over to the new dark blue layout with new sub-mains, better navigation and all the rest. Russia is booming at the moment for online poker (you may have noticed the cyrillic letters in the ‘location’ fields on some poker sites) so I’m really happy to be getting this switch done. Hungarian is next in the queue… probably German after that.

- SNG Blueprint Course has a press release coming out tomorrow (Wednesday). Writing a press release is its own art form, you have to be straight forward, a little bit salesy and also quote yourself, Mark, speaking from the Planet HQ said “Writing press releases is a little bit cheesy” yesterday. Anyway, the positive feedback continues (thanks to all who took the time) and we are up to about 900 members of the course already and growing daily. If you enjoyed the course please help spread the word! If not then you can join via the homepage of this site.

 - PB Network’s revamp continues, Planet Laszlo is working on it as I write with his own design ideas and shifting to the Wordpress platform. Today I have a task to come up with 15 to 20 new articles to give this one a nice booster before the change over to the new version.

Well, those are the main projects at the moment, with staff holidays coming up we are just going to keep on keeping on with the rest of the sites. One more change to report is that I will only be responding to non-essential mails twice a week from now on – chosen Tuesday and Friday for the ’support’ type requests. I’ll scan for anything urgent or ongoing conversations in between. This should be a nice little productivity win, I’m much better with not checking stats too often these days and would like to improve further in other areas too.

As for the music festival, this is on an Island in the river Danube and is called the Sziget Festival (translates as Island Festival). Have been going for a few years now and to be honest do not know half of the latest bands these days (old and proud!). Thursday sees Public Image Limited, The Specials and Faithless… the Gorillaz sound system later on too… not sure about Friday / Saturday yet, Friday seems a little EMO for my tastes!! Iron Maiden might be fun on Saturday though. Sunday is Kasabian and then Muse… my better half is a huge Muse fan so we will be there rain or shine. A lot of the fun times are always the bars, small bands and side-entertainment of course… and with 30C forecast it should be a great weekend.

GL at the tables, Mark
