Too much going on in life as usual for me! Thought I’d share a personal project I am very excited about today – as well as a quick update on my web projects (which is mostly a failure to keep up with my network!!).

So, the big news (for me at least!) is that I am moving back to England… and soon.

Flights are booked for mid-September to find somewhere to live, with a plan to move in October. The process of selling a flat here in Budapest has started (more renovation required first!), and a ban on new possessions has been introduced by me, then completely ignored by Erika.

We are moving to the South Coast of England, a place called Bournemouth (or more likely Poole). I have not lived there myself before, however lots of Family live nearby, and it is a big enough place to have a few things going on without being overwhelming for an old guy like me.

I love Hungary and have enjoyed much of my stay here – however for the last couple of years I have been getting desperate to escape. It almost happened last year, then at the last moment, Erika and I decided to spend half of this year on holiday instead… this did not really work, just too disruptive – so it is back to my initial plan and over to Blighty we go.

This will be a big project, going to close down my Hungarian limited company and set up a UK one… as well as all the practicalities of international moving – what can possibly go wrong?

On a side note, if any readers come from this area and would like to give me some hints on where to play poker / nice places to eat / best comedy clubs + music venues and so on then that would be great!!

Web Projects

Enough about me, here is a Planet Corp projects update.

Motivation has been a problem since the Full Tilt shutdown, this killed off a nice regular income stream… at least for the time being. It was all the hard work getting the rankings over the last couple of years turning to dust that did it for me – I even had a back-up plan in place while I was doing it (yep, Absolute Poker!). Anyway, feel like my motivation is returning, and as Erika so kindly points out… I probably do more when totally de-motivated than most webmasters do normally!!

SNG Planet: I’m having another revamp, actually quite irritated with myself for letting this site get a little old and stale. At the moment I’m simplifying the main pages one-by-one (see the newest homepage here). Next after this some more color / graphics will be added… just had a feeling that there was a slider on the first page for the sake of having one – and that a clear message telling visitors what the site was about would be better. Also going to freshen the reviews and key articles.

The language versions are getting desperately out of date too. Plan is to keep going with the HU / RU as usual, then choose a language each month to bring up to date… Guess German would be the obvious candidate – not only is poker booming there, but they have most of the money in Europe these days!!

Poker Training: Another tale of frustration, this time with technology, I have officially given up trying to make WP work for our Russian Training site. Discussing a new plan at the moment with my Russian business partner and still positive on this project. I’ll be supplying some strategy content myself. The great thing about this project will be that once it is running / proven, we can start to replicate in other languages.

Live Poker Gold: Off to a reasonable start with this eBook course, my big take away is that a book should be written by 1 person… not 3. Still a great course for the small niche of online players who have little live experience – keep seeing things I would have done differently if it were me alone though! Staking Group: Full Tilt really did not help with this… however this was balanced by some very good results elsewhere. Early days for this project, if any readers are interested in being staked then please let me know.

Cool Casinos Club: Just started to move the focus on my main casino site away from the US by introducing Party Casino (shutdowns affecting this industry too). Making much bigger and more personal game reviews, and enjoying playing some of the games too (oops!). Couple more articles going up today and big list to be re-written. Masses Of Other Sites: Ugh, a big list, including some sites which used to earn me small but decent money each month which have now gone out of date. Rakeback-Planet needs a complete revamp, going to take away the ‘Ask Mark’ service there as 99% (literally) of the people I gave in-depth info about options to ended up playing for other people. A whole collection of sites out there with small traffic which could get a boost / convert better if I could find the time to update them including KillerHoldem, my Ubuntu Site, Fairest Poker, Cereus Poker (!), Scratch Card Site, dead Russian and Hungarian rakeback sites, HU blackjack and Bingo sites and so on…

Got the feeling readers might think I have a bunch of problems on my hands!!

No, actually a bunch of opportunities… just not enough hours in the day to fulfill them at the moment.

Did I mention my growing non-poker network of sites… aarrrrgghhh!
