Next Poker Live Events – Forward Looking Satellites Update Time!
There we are then, another ‘November 9′… instead of dwelling on events (almost) completed – I thought it was a good opportunity to take a look forwards and see what the major sites are offering satellites to at the moment…
Of course, we have a dedciated Poker Satellites section, which is a mix of infomation and strategy articles. Since we just had the new look installed it will be a couple of days before I can update it with the latest information – so here is a list!
Titan Poker are going big on the APT and EC Poker tours at the moment. It really seems that the need to challenge Pokerstars tours is becoming apparent (the EPT and APPT are already established). Anyway, you can currently qualify for the EC Poker Tour in Vienna and the Asian Poker Tour event in Manila – to be held in November (Vienna) and late August (Manila) respectively. Titan have a very effective 3-stage satellites system in place… Non-US players can read our Titan Poker Review here.
Pokerstars are already featuring the Caribbean Adventure on the front page of their tournament lobby, with player point satellites running almost 6-months before the event itself (Jan 2011) we can see that Stars are looking to increase the exposure of this one. We also have the NAPT in Los Angeles in Early November, the APPT Aukland and the EPT Tallin qualifiers underway. If you have not yet discovered why stars are considered the best (as well as the biggest) poker site then do check out our Pokerstars Review for more.
Party are busy filling up seats for the WPT London, which runs from the 29th August. London is hotting up as a big buy-in destination these days… with the EPT, WSOPE and now WPT all running $10k events. A quick hint to readers… those Party Satellites are as soft as you are likely to find anywhere. Our Party Poker Review can be found here.
Full Tilt Poker are about to launch another FTOPS (will update the main site with the details of this as soon as Planet Anna lets me!) running from August 4th. The Mini-FTOPs following from September 8th. I do not see any live events advertised, though the pick-your-prize satellites should still be running for any $12k package of your choice.
Finally for the bigger sites I checked out OnGame via my favorite people there at Red Kings Poker. They are going large on the ‘Grand Series Of Poker’ or GSOP at the moment, with Riga, Malta, Budapest and Seville all listed… the qualification paths start at just $2.20c, so no excuses not to have a great poker holiday this year folks. I recommend the games at Red Kings too – check out our Red Kings Review here for more.
Well, thats it for today, the UBOC is also coming and I am sure a look at the next largest sites would reveal even more satellites. Long enough post for one day and lots of writing ahead for when the final tweaks of the new look are completed and I’m allowed to post articles again – so I’ll stop here for now.
If any readers qualify for any of the above events based on my recommendations I’d really love to know – would give us all a boost here at Planet HQ.
Gl at the tables, Mark
